Hi, I’m Erika—And I Accidentally Started a Movement for Moms in Business

Jul 15, 2025

Let’s just start with the truth: I didn’t set out to build a business community for moms.

I was just a working mom, trying to get my work done—and wondering why it all felt so dang lonely.

Sure, I had been in business for years. I’ve worked in residential real estate here in San Antonio for over a decade (aka helping families find homes while trying to keep my own house from looking like a tornado hit it). I’ve got a background in graphic design, a love for all things marketing and growth, and a personal relationship with planners, pens, and color-coded Post-it Notes that might be considered excessive by medical standards.

Oh man, there’s just something about a fresh set of pens, you guys…but I digress.

I’m also a mom of three hilarious, strong-willed daughters who are both the reason for my ambition and the reason I can never find my phone charger. A wife to my husband, Frank. A podcast host by some strange mix of caffeine and chaos. And a woman who—like so many of you—was trying to build something meaningful without burning out or missing bedtime stories.

But here’s what I realized:
There was no space where I could grow as a business owner and still be fully myself as a mom.

I tried it all—webinars, workshops, the “networking events” that were supposed to help me scale. But most of them felt stiff, overly polished, and honestly, kind of soul-sucking. I didn’t want to pitch myself to a room full of suits while pretending I wasn’t also mentally inventorying the snacks in my kid’s lunchbox.

I wanted connection. I wanted community. I wanted real conversations about growing a business and raising a family—without having to hide the fact that I was doing both.

So... like any determined, slightly sleep-deprived mom?
I built it, because, as I have learned about myself over the years, there is not much I wont do for my own convenience.

First online. Then in real life.
And before I knew it, Working Moms of San Antonio was no longer just an idea—it was a thriving online community of over 7,000 women.

Now we’ve got a Business Membership that supports 100+ incredible local moms. We’ve hosted events, launched a podcast, opened our own event and content creation space... and watched magic happen when women stop pretending and start being real. (Good grief, that was so close to a Real World intro quote…but I’m aging myself now.)

Here’s the heart of it:
You don’t have to choose between building your business and being present with your kids.
You don’t have to do business alone.
And you definitely don’t need to wait until you “have it all together” to belong in this room.

So if you’re here wondering where you fit—friend, you’re in the right place.
We’re building something real. And we’re doing it together.

Whether you’re looking for strategy, friendship, referrals, a laugh, or just a soft place to land... I’m so glad you found us!

You absolutely belong in this story, too.

With love and highlighters,
Erika Radis
